We offer fine art, drawing and painting classes in
Orange County, CA for kids, teens and adults.

Located in the heart of Aliso Viejo, CA, Artventure is a 2,000 sq. ft. collaborative space to learn and share the arts. Outfitted with top-of-the-line materials and ample workspace for all students, Artventure is where the community can come together.

Students of all ages and skill levels can work, learn, and grow. Artventure offers classes in drawing, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, sketching, oil painting, and traditional animation. The studio is the perfect place to develop and prep portfolios for middle and high school students with an eye toward art school.

Artventure’s students are active in the local art community, featured in local juried art exhibitions and art festivals. In addition, their artwork is displayed in spaces throughout Orange County, California, including John Wayne Airport, the Norman P. Murray Center, Pageant of the Masters Junior Art Exhibition, Orange County’s exhibition “1,000 Pieces of Art”, and local galleries.

Whether art is a hobby or a future career path, the goal of Artventure is to make every student say, “I just love being here!”

Meet our Lead Instructors

Ryann

Lead Instructor & Studio Manager

Ryann is a talented and passionate artist whose expertise spans multiple mediums, from watercolor to printmaking. A graduate of Cal State University Long Beach, Ryann earned her degree Magna Cum Laude and was recognized as a featured artist in the CSULB gallery for her exceptional printmaking work. Her unique designs have also found a place in the local music scene, where they can be seen on merchandise for various artists. In addition to being a gifted watercolor artist, Ryann serves as our dedicated Studio Manager, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Her engaging teaching style and warm personality resonate deeply with her students, who love the vibrant and inspiring atmosphere she creates in her lessons. She is committed to nurturing each student’s creativity and helping them find their artistic voice.

Karissa

Lead Instructor

Karissa is a highly talented artist specializing in digital art, character, and background design. With a mastery of oil painting and gouache, Karissa brings a dynamic range of skills and creativity to our studio. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Illustration from the Laguna College of Art and Design, where she was recognized as a featured artist for her outstanding work. Karissa’s enthusiasm and approachable teaching style make her a favorite among students. She fosters a fun and inspiring learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore their creativity and develop their unique artistic voices.

Cheryl

Lead Adult Instructor

Cheryl is an accomplished artist and published illustrator with over 17 years of teaching experience. She holds a B.A. in Biology from Reed College and an M.F.A. from the California Institute of the Arts. Cheryl’s art blends scientific concepts with the hidden beauty of nature, resulting in visually striking and original works. Through her art, she interprets essential concepts in the book “Big Brain: The Origins and Future of Human Intelligence,” which has been translated into Greek and Japanese and featured in popular magazines. Her drawings have appeared in numerous scientific publications, and her larger works have been showcased at renowned venues, including the Laguna Art Museum, Oceanside Museum of Art, Beall Center for Art and Technology, Norma Desmond Productions, and the Basel Art Fair.


 

An active member of West Coast Drawing, where she has served as an exhibition chair, Cheryl brings a wealth of experience and a gentle hand to mentoring adult students at our studio. She guides students in exploring their creativity, building their skill sets, and achieving their artistic goals.

 

Sonja

Lead Instructor

Sonja is a talented animator and artist from Southern California and has a passion for creativity and exploration. Graduating Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Animation/Illustration from San Jose State University, Sonja excels in digital art, design, animation, and traditional media, particularly gouache. She works in motion graphics and design and is an active member of Women in Animation. With her fun and engaging personality, Sonja brings a vibrant energy to our studio. She encourages her students to step out of their comfort zones, explore new techniques, and develop their unique artistic styles, making her classes both inspiring and transformative.
